End-of year sale (click for details)
With the arrival of thousands of works of handmade fine craft, set-up is complete for the 35th Annual Holiday Exhibition and Sale at Brookfield Craft Center. More than 100 talented craft artists from across North America have provided beautiful new work for this year’s event.
This year’s event includes unique, one-of-a-kind work by dozens of artists new to the exhibition, as well as new work by returning artists. According to Richard Herrmann, Executive Director, “In line with our mission of teaching and promoting fine craft, every purchase provides significant support for the Craft Center’s educational programs, as well as income to the artist who made the work.”
“We’ve really raised the bar on the Holiday Sale this year,” added Betsy Halliday, Marketing Director for Brookfield Craft Center. “All the artwork has been juried into the sale. We’ve focused on quality work that is representative of the type of fine craft that is taught in our classes and workshops. Many of our experienced faculty members are represented, so potential students can see the kind of work they can learn to make in our studios, and the level of talent our instructors possess.”
Herrmann also shared that this year’s event includes a Collector’s Corner gallery, both online and onsite, featuring high-end fine craft such as one-of-a-kind art jewelry, furniture and sculpture for the discriminating buyer. Asked about seasonal merchandise traditionally seen at the Craft Center’s Holiday Sale, Halliday offered “We’re creating a new experience for that, too.”
When you purchase a gift at the Craft Center, you know there is a direct link between the artist’s creative skills and the buyer. That makes each item so much more special, for both the giver and the recipient.
