Glass Studio
Linda Banks

Linda is a multi-media artist whose work spans glass, quilting, sewing, pottery, gourds, silversmithing, and beadwork. She believes skills learned in one medium often inform and enrich another. Her love of glass began in sixth grade in Washington, CT, when she was introduced to fused glass by Priscilla Porter. She later worked in Porter’s studio during the early days of flat glass fusing on the East Coast, inspiring her to continue learning through classes, workshops, and exhibitions.

Linda has developed her own whimsical approach to fused glass, exploring texture, iridescence, sculptural forms, and kiln casting. She enjoys the challenge of transforming clay sculptures into molds that capture the beauty of molten glass and has experimented with techniques including Vitrigraph casting.

Teaching has been an important part of Linda’s life for more than 40 years. She has taught both children and adults and especially enjoys helping students discover the joy of creating. Her teaching journey began at Brookfield Craft Center, where she first studied pottery before becoming an instructor. Linda loves developing new classes and helping students bring their ideas to life. For her, teaching is about giving back and sharing the creative inspiration that first sparked her own artistic journey.
