3-Day Jewelrymaking Intensive Workshop

If your schedule doesn’t permit you to commit to a class of 6-weekly sessions, then this intensive 3-day workshop is for you. Students will explore the art of jewelry design and metalsmithing from start to finish. Topics covered include design considerations, the various metals used in jewelry, basic metalsmithing tools and their uses. Thursday through Saturday, March 10-12.

May 7: Spend a Full Day with Jimmy Clewes

Brookfield Craft Center is pleased to welcome legendary woodturner Jimmy Clewes to our turning studio for a full-day demo. Jimmy will share his outstanding techniques with turning enthusiasts, and allow them to get an up-close look at his bag of tricks on the lathe. Lunch is included during a mid-day break. Saturday, May 7 9a – 5p: space is limited to 25 participants.

Bowl Turning Revisited: February 26-27

This class is for students who have recently taken a beginning level class and want to continue with bowl turning, or students who have turned in the past. All aspects of bowl turning will be covered: lathe safety, wood preparation, tool selection and use, basic design, sanding and finishing. A great way to brush up on your woodturning skills!

Try your hand at flameworking borosilicate glass!

In this workshop, Morgan HK Schwartz will demonstrate proper techniques of flameworking borosilicate glass. Flower pendants, implosions, marbles, honeycombs, and working with dichroic glass are some of the skills that will be covered. Beginners welcome!
